Exploring La Bufadora

My neighbors Gunther and Elisabeth invited me to go see the house they are about to move into near La Bufadora.
The beach at their new house, it's 6 miles long.

The road to La Bufadora, some awesome views from up here.
Lots of fishing nets down there

La Bufadora, this is on a small peninsula about 20 miles from Ensenada.

This place has been here for a long time, they have an annual chili and salsa contest that's coming up, sounds delicious.
It's all about getting the tourists money here.
Lots of tee shirt shops
This place looks fun
Lots of leather shops

An unusual amount of rules for Mexico
I love the native plants here, this was next to the rules sign

Nothing's free, not even pee
The "blow hole"
There she blows!

Bumfuzzle

If you enjoy travel pictures in Mexico, please go read the Bumfuzzle blog, Pat and Ali Schulte have been a major inspiration to me and my dreams of traveling.
I started reading them when I had a sailboat a few years ago, when they were  in the "Bought ourselves a monohull" adventure, I learned so much from Pat reading about their travels in Mexico on a sailboat.

Currently they are traveling through mainland Mexico in a 1966 Dodge Travco RV. They have travelled extensively in Mexico and there are a year and a half of blog post on their current adventure.

Pat and Ali are far better photographers than I am, I think you would really enjoy this blog, if your interested in seeing "real" Mexico, instead of the crap you see on the news.

About Pat and Ali:

Today's blog post:

The start of their Travco RV adventure to Mexico from Minnesota:

The subscribe link is at the very bottom of these pages, it says:

BUMFUZZLE YOUR INBOX

It's always a treat to get one of their post in my inbox, check them out.

If you start reading this blog you will wonder how the hell they afford this travel lifestyle, Pat wrote a book explaining how he does stock market trading to pay for this life. "Life on the Margins" is the book, it's an interesting read, I quickly figured out that this is not suited to the way my brain works. I highly recommend "Bumfuzzle" the book, it is the story of them sailing around the world in a 35' catamaran.

Exploring El Sauzal

I went for a drive through the town right next to me, El Sauzal, kind of a suburb of Ensenada. The town basically goes up a mountain and at the top and the other side of the mountain it turns to dirt roads and a third world looking village.
Here are some pictures I took.

It seems that trash goes anywhere. And a horse.
This is just a block off Highway 1 next to the ocean. The market runs on the street I'm standing in.

The market is running Monday and Friday
Bootleg DVDs and music

High up into El Sauzal

On the back side of the mountain, looks like some serious poverty down there.

One of the "streets" at the top of El Sauzal. You can't see how steep this is, it was ridiculous. That chicken in the middle of the road had a bunch of little chicks behind her, I had to wait for them to cross.

You don't see this from Highway 1 down there near that marina.

And of course there are beetles here.
