Life changes your plans doesn't it?

Two days ago I was on a journey to the desert.
Today I'm on a journey to go bury my dad.
I just got word that my dad Roger John Martin died about 6 am today.
My dad had many physical problems, severe COPD, and probably lung cancer. My dad was in a hospice, sedated, in no pain as far as I know, he is on his own journey now.
He was a very good man.

Today I'm driving to Amarillo Texas from Las Vegas, 850 miles.

  2. In case you are reading this now, I got within about 90 miles of Burning Man, had just bought my last provisions before I was leaving for the desert, and got the call that my dad had gotten much worse. I knew he was in the hospital, and I was deeply concerned, he had been in and out of the hospital many times over the previous years and always recovered. I should have taken it more seriously and abandoned my 6 months of planning for Burning Man, but, I didn't, so I turned around and started driving back 500 miles to Vegas, the same day I had just got there. All of it was heart breaking, I loved my dad and I miss him every day. It took me a long time to "recover" from his death, I will never truly be recovered. I am now just a normal working stiff, trying to do a few interesting things a year, waiting for retirement.

    1. Drove to Vegas, dropped off the RV then continued driving 800+ miles to Amarillo Texas, that was Sept 2015. I just felt the need to fill in some blanks on my little blog.
